Stephanie and john’s Rustic Wedding story

If you are still deciding whether a Rustic themed wedding is perfect for you or if you simply need help putting together tips and ideas. Let me take you to memory lane with the beautiful rustic wedding of Stephanie and John. Their wedding was held at the The Brazilian Room in Berkeley California on the 24th of September 2022. A venue that truly brings all the feels you need for a rustic themed wedding.

Stephanie and John were the first couple who trusted me in creating wedding favors for their special day, which makes them extra special to me! They are such a fun loving couple and being with nature is a big part of their story.

Finding the perfect souvenir for their wedding was a journey that started with their color theme. With that, the scattered baby’s breath on our midnight blue coaster is just the subtle detail they were looking for. They carefully chose the people in their big day and decided to gift each one of them with a personalized coaster. Their to do list was long but they were glad to save time deciding on their table decor and place card. It was a real honour to work with them, creating their perfect rustic wedding souvenirs for their tablesetting was truly memorable to me.

With so many tips, ideas and styles available, choosing a wedding theme can be difficult. Rustic-style country weddings are all about creating a warm, cosy, natural atmosphere that celebrates the beauty of the great outdoors. This style of wedding is generally held in outdoor or rustic settings such as in a barn, on a farm or vineyard, or in a field.

The easiest way to create a rustic wedding theme is by using natural materials such as wood and branches, and incorporating natural elements like foliage and flowers into your venue space. You should also definitely use lots of sparkling rustic lights such as fairy lights or lanterns to enhance the ambience. Fabrics usually associated with a rustic wedding theme are lace, hessian, denim, jute and burlap.

From whimsical earthy touches and charming venues to rustic decorations and live music - here are some rustic styling tips and inspiration to help you create your perfect wedding theme!

RUSTIC STYLING IDEAS

There are so many objects you can use to style your rustic-themed wedding. You can easily find pieces at flea markets, car boot sales, and thrift stores for those finishing touches, turning them from everyday items into fantastic wedding props.

Here are some simple but beautiful ideas to really bring the rustic theme to life at your wedding:

  • Get creative with bunting

  • Sparkle with fairy lights and lanterns

  • Create a cosy atmosphere by adding rustic wedding drapes

  • Entwine fairy lights in your arrangements

  • Incorporate foliage and natural elements

  • Use recycled materials for furniture pieces and displays, such as barrels, planks and crates

  • Add flowers and vines around your tableware

  • Choose rustic wooden table accessories

  • Upcycle old rustic jars and vintage pots

  • Choose natural alternatives to confetti such as olive leaves, dried lavender, rose petals, or calendulas

  • Create rustic flower crowns with baby’s breath

  • Embrace autumnal and earthy colors

RUSTIC TABLESCAPES

If you're creating a rustic theme wedding, one of the most important (and fun) things to style are the tablescapes. Incorporate your rustic color palette into the tablescape by using earthy tones like brown, green and blue. Use candles or lanterns for a cosy and intimate feel, and also look at adding fairy lights on the table to enhance the romantic atmosphere. Add in florals and greenery to really bring the tablescape to life, using wildflowers, herbs like lavender or rosemary, or foliage like eucalyptus or ferns.

Flowing table runners are perfect for rustic table settings. And, don’t forget to add in the small details like natural material napkins and simple place cards to bring the rustic vibe to your tablescape. Consider adding a small personal touch to each table setting, such as a handwritten note or a small personalized gift for each guest. RUSTIC Wedding Colors

Colors to include in a rustic wedding theme should all be natural and earthy inspired such as green, brown and blue, and you can also include neutral shades such as beige, grey, and cream. When it comes to color pops in your theme for a rustic style, you can incorporate rich earthy tones such as maroon, purple, or orange.

When it comes to picking your colors for your rustic wedding, draw inspiration from all things rustic and natural. Look at the colors of wood and tree bark, fire and rust, and the colors of the great ourdoors. To read more about picking your perfect wedding color palette, check out my full blog post here.

A rustic wedding theme is a wedding theme that is truly inspired by nature, so make sure to incorporate elements of the outdoors and natural life. To really showcase your rustic wedding theme you will want to feature natural decor like wood, greenery, and flowers.

Keep your rustic wedding theme in mind when choosing each element of your wedding. Choose wildflowers for simple floral centerpieces, and have a naked or lace-style wedding cake. For your dress, add a rustic touch by opting for a simple or lace design, while the groom could have a less formal suit in tweed or linen.
