My name is Vanessa, and I am the maker of The Patterned Desk. Let me introduce myself. I am a Mom, a Wife to a loving husband, a loving Daughter, a Best Friend, a Nurse, and now a small business owner!

Being creative didn’t really come naturally to me, and believe it or not I sucked at Art Class. But, I did pretty well with my Penmanship class! Motherhood bought me challenges that pushed me to be a better and stronger person. It reminded me that although life can be overwhelming, I shouldn’t lose myself. Which is how I ended up going back to my first love… Writing down my thoughts and nurturing them into calligraphic art, and then blossoming into patterns of beautiful things that inspire me.

I had so much fear about starting a business and since I’ve put myself out there, I definitely still have struggles with confidence and self-belief. But, life just seems to lead me to grow and step outside of my comfort box.

My heart is full each time my designs make someone happy. That is what truly pushes me, to love and be inspired, and to give back by inspiring you.
